WALT: Edit our writing

When we edit our work we have to read it heaps of times! We check all of these things.

• Read it out loud - does it make sense? Add or remove what you need to.
• 
  
• Read it out loud - where do I stop to take a breath? Put in your full stops and capital letters.
• 
  
• Read it to check for capital letters - specific people, place or thing.
• 
  
• See what detail you can add to each event. Are you missing any of the 5Ws? Can you add something extra to your personal comment?
• 
  
• Is there anything you need to take out? This might be things that aren't related to story, or that you've repeated.
• 
  
• Check your spelling. Underline any words you think might be incorrect - sound them out as carefully as you can, then check them using a word list or dictionary.

• varies the tempo and energy level throughout the story to keep the listeners interested

WALT: recognise short vowel sounds

The vowels are A E I O U. They can have long or short vowels.

The sound the letter makes is different from its name.
We are learning to recognise short vowel sounds. They are the sounds in the middle of these words.

Today we started our learning by sharing a version of Maui and the Sun, then we looked a two video clips. We are going to story-board and retell, dramatise and do some visual art based around this story.

A common noun is a person place or thing. Eg, school

A proper noun is a specific person, place or thing. Eg, Darfield Primary School

What needs a capital letter?

• A person's name
• Days, months and holidays (special days)
• Cities, countries and continents
• Events
• Movies, bands, books, plays, TV shows, magazines, sports teams
• Branded products

How to make bread

1  fist you put warm water in the bowl

2  next you put three teaspoons of sugar in the bowl

3  then you put the yeast in the bowl

4  then we put flour in the pot

5  After that we put one teaspoos of salt in the pot

6  next we put some oil in the hole that we made of flour

7  after that we pour the water and the yeast in the pot

8  then we stir it together

9 then we wash our hands so we can knead it.

1.Put warm! water in a bowl and put 1 table spoon of sugar in aswell.

 

2.Next  add 1 table spoon of sugar and yeast.

 

3. After that you put 3 cops of flour in a seperate bowl.

 

4.Now put a table spoon of salt over top of the flour.

5. Make a hole in the middle of the flour and put oil in there and then the yeast stir it.

 

6.let it set kneed it and put flour on to stop it from sticking.

 

7.Kneed it again.

 

8. bake it.

 

9. Eat it.

Put one table spoon of yeast in the bowl. Put a tea spoon of salt in the bowl. Then put three cups of flour. Then put one tea spoon of oil. Mix it together. Thenkneed it with your hands.Then put the dough in the oven and it rise. Then we eat it.
