Dear blog visitors,

We appreciate that you have come to look at our blog and it would be awesome to have your comments and feedback on the things we are doing in class.

To make a comment, go to the bottom of the post, and there will be '0 comments' (it could be any number). This should be in blue. Click on that and then follow the onscreen instructions. Your comment will not appear straight away as it has to be moderated first.

Tomorrow (Monday), all going well with technology, the children will be having thier first lesson on how to use the blog, so they should have some tricks to show you!

Colour wheel

We learnt about primary, secondary and tertiary colours. We made our own colour wheel by mixing paint.

P4C - Philosophy for Kids

On Friday we had our first philosophy session. The purpose of these sessions is to get us in the learning 'pit'. We had to really think about things in order to come up with our thoughts and opinions.
There were two rules: we must respect what other people think and we cannot 'sit on the fence.'

Our topic: What is a name?
How it went: The first person came up with "a name is something someone is called", but they were challenged with "so if I called you silly, is that your name?" Someone else said "a name is unique to you." So they were challenged with "but we have two Toms in this class, does that mean they are the same person?" The children also got the chance to think about, if their name was changed, would they be a different person?

Many children are still left in the pit! Perhaps you'd like to ask your child if they've come up with an answer yet......

Proper Nouns

We have been learning about nouns and proper nouns. We know that proper nouns are names of people and places (like towns and shops) and they have capital letters.

Here is a choice video all about nouns.

Welcome!

Hi students!

Welcome to your classroom blog. This is a place where we can share all the exciting things we are doing in Room 9. Invite everyone you know to check it out!

Remember this is yours - let me know if there is something we should add or change.
