Margaret Mahy
Magaret Mahy was born on the 21st March 1930 and died Monday 23rd July 2012 in Christchurch hospital. She was raised in Whakatane as the oldest child. She has two daughters.
Achievements
Margaret Mahy started writing at age seven. She won twenty three book awards. margaret Mahy wrote over 100 picture books, 40 novels and 20 series. Her stories were published in 15 languages.
Interesting Facts
When Margaret Mahy was 62, she got a tatoo of a skull with a rose in it, on her left arm. Her favourite food was salad sandwiches and if she wasn't a writer she'd be a libraian.
